The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of tech company Astronomer, Andy Byron has been placed on leave after a viral video showed him cuddling with Chief People Officer Kirstin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston.
The clip, which captured the two reacting awkwardly when shown on the big screen, sparked widespread speculation online.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin even joked on stage: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Astronomer confirmed Byron’s leave in a LinkedIn post, saying an interim CEO has taken over as the board investigates. The company also clarified that a third woman seen in the video is not an employee.
Byron, who took over in 2023, has led the $1bn data firm through significant growth.
