Patricia Asiedua Asiamah also known as Nana Agradaa and another facing trial for the alleged unlawful publication of intimate images have initiated plea bargain negotiations with the Office of the Attorney General.
Details of the ongoing negotiations remain undisclosed, but the presiding judge, Justice Mary Ekue Yanzuh of the High Court in Accra, expressed hope that the talks will conclude before the next hearing date, which has been adjourned to October 21, 2025.
One of the accused, Enoch Owusu Kissi, has opted out of the negotiations. His legal team has instead filed a notice of appeal challenging the court’s ruling ordering him to open his defence.
The developments mark a new turn in the high-profile case involving Patricia Asiedua Asiamah — widely known as Nana Agradaa — who is already serving a 15-year prison sentence for a separate conviction involving charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.
Earlier this month, the court rejected a submission of no case filed by Agradaa’s lawyers, ruling that the accused persons have a case to answer in the current matter. As such, the court ordered the opening of their defence.
However, at the last sitting on July 7, Agradaa was absent from court, prompting the judge to direct prison authorities to ensure her presence in subsequent proceedings. She is currently in lawful custody at Nsawam Prison.
The instant case stems from a broadcast on Agradaa’s former TV station, Thunder TV where prosecutors say she displayed nude images of Prophet Emmanuel Appiah Fomum during a live programme and later shared them via WhatsApp.
Her co-accused, Charles Omane alias One Gig, and Enoch Owusu Kissi, are alleged to have participated in the broadcast and made disparaging commentary about the images. Charges levelled against them include abetment and conspiracy under the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038).
The case, initially dismissed at the Circuit Court level, was refiled by state prosecutors at the High Court, where it continues to unfold.
