PIWC West Hills lays foundation stone for new church auditorium

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), West Hills marked a significant milestone in its growth journey with the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new mega church auditorium.

The event represents a major step in fulfilling a long-standing vision to provide a larger, purpose-driven space for worship, fellowship, and community outreach.

The ceremony was held as part of a broader project first envisioned under the leadership of Resident Minister, Pastor Philip Pascal Asiedu, who assumed office in August 2021.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Asiedu launched a five-year strategic vision dubbed “Equipping the Church,” aimed at strengthening the spiritual, structural, and social foundations of the assembly.

The mega auditorium, designed to seat 1,500 congregants, will feature multiple components including a main auditorium, children’s chapel, French service area, conference rooms, a baptistry, mothers’ inn, offices, and a media studio.

Apostle James Asare, Area Head, Kasoa who laid the stone expressed gratitude to God for how far he had brought the church and thanked members for their immense sacrifice and love for the work of God.

He also urged members to keep up the good work and used the opportunity to  caution them to take their salvation seriously.

Meanwhile, the project officially commenced on March 6, 2022, following a sod-cutting ceremony led by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost.

PIWC West Hills began its journey in August 2017 as a vibrant and youthful English assembly under the New Weija and later New Aplaku Districts. It was eventually elevated to Worship Centre status due to rapid growth and spiritual impact. Under its inaugural Resident Minister, Pastor Percy Opoku Ahwene Danquah, the church quickly became a spiritual hub known for its dynamic worship and life-transforming messages.

With the increasing size of the congregation, it became clear that the existing 250-seat auditorium could no longer meet the needs of the church. This gave birth to the vision for a larger, multi-purpose edifice that would cater to both current and future generations.

Backed by the presbytery, Area Head, and committed church members, construction officially began in November 2022. The progress so far reflects the dedication, unity, and sacrificial giving of the congregation.

In addition to the auditorium project, the leadership also addressed the pressing need for parking. Through divine favour and strategic planning, PIWC West Hills successfully acquired four plots of land directly in front of its current premises for use as a car park.

The foundation stone laying is not just a construction milestone—it’s a symbolic moment that testifies to what a faith-driven community can achieve through prayer, vision, and unity. As the church continues to expand its physical and spiritual footprint, it remains anchored in its mission to transform lives and communities to the glory of God.
