The President of RNAQ Holdings, Richard Nii Armah-Quaye, has presented a cheque of GHS 500,000 to the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment to support its “Red Means Stop” campaign against drug abuse.

The donation, made on behalf of the RNAQ Foundation, underscores the organisation’s commitment to tackling the growing threat of opioid and drug abuse among Ghanaian youth.

During the presentation,Nii Armah-Quaye highlighted the urgency of addressing drug abuse, drawing from his experience as an entrepreneur employing over 4,000 Ghanaian youth with an average age of 26.

“The youth of this country are our goldmine,” he said, emphasising their critical role in Ghana’s economic future.

He expressed concern over the rising trajectory of drug abuse in Ghana, likening it to challenges faced in other African countries like Sierra Leone, where his businesses also operate.

The President of RNAQ Holdings , noted that drug abuse, particularly opioid addiction, has led to mental and physical impairments among young employees, impacting productivity and well-being.

“This is a national threat to all of us,” he stated, calling for collective action to prevent a “national catastrophe.”

The RNAQ Foundation, dedicated to providing social justice to marginalized communities, aims to address the root causes of drug abuse, which Armah-Quaye linked to neglect and deprivation.

He pledged the Foundation’s full support to the Ministry’s efforts, aligning with the “Red Means Stop” campaign to combat the menace head-on.

The Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment had previously reached out to RNAQ Holdings for support, prompting this donation.

He reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry to protect Ghana’s youth and curb the spread of drug abuse.
