A young man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a pan of waakye, along with containers of stew and shito.
Although the exact location in Ghana was not disclosed, a viral video sighted by Ghana Weekend on Wednesday August 20 shows the suspect carrying the items on his head while some residents confront him, beat and slap him, and poke him with a stick before escorting him through the streets and putting him in a taxi to the police station.
The onlookers, who spoke in Twi, were heard ridiculing him over the incident.
He was later handed over to the police in the company of the waakye seller, who filed a formal complaint.
