The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) says Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale cannot prove that he legally owns a Lamborghini Urus in his possession.
In a statement released on Thursday, August 21, EOCO said Shatta Wale told them he bought the car from “the Street.” He claimed the seller might be someone called “ZAK,” who contacted him on WhatsApp. However, he admitted he doesn’t really know who the person is and no longer has the contact.
EOCO also said Shatta Wale has no documents, such as a receipt or car ownership papers, to show he bought the car. The only document he has is a customs declaration form in the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, a man who is currently in jail.
Meanwhile, fans of Shatta Wale have gathered at EOCO’s office, demanding his release.
The artiste has been granted bail of GHS 10 million with two sureties after being held over tax-related issues. EOCO says he will be released once all legal conditions are met.
Shatta Wale’s media manager, Sammy Flex, confirmed in a video that the legal team is working hard to meet the bail requirements and get him released soon.
