Wrestling match turns violent as Rampage Jackson’s son attacks opponent

A staged professional wrestling event in Los Angeles took an alarming turn recently, leaving one wrestler seriously injured and raising questions about the line between performance and reality.

The incident involves Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and professional wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith.

The event, organised by KnokX Pro Entertainment, was being livestreamed when Raja Jackson entered the ring. According to his father’s statement on X, Jackson was meant to participate in a staged “work” with Smith.

However, what followed was a shocking and violent attack. On the livestream, Jackson is seen slamming Smith to the mat and then delivering multiple punches to his head after he appeared to be unconscious. Other wrestlers had to rush in and pull Jackson off Smith.

Following the event, the aftermath played out across social media. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson stated that the incident was a “work that went wrong” and that his son had recently suffered a concussion, so he should not have been in the ring at all.

He also claimed that Smith had unexpectedly hit his son prior to the match and that his son was told he could get “payback” in the ring. He has since apologised on his son’s behalf and said that Smith is “awake and stable.”

However, KnokX Pro Entertainment released a statement of their own, describing the confrontation as a “planned and agreed upon wrestling spot” that turned into “a selfish, irresponsible act of violence.” The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident.

Stuart Smith’s family has also shared an update. His brother, Andrew Smith, posted on Facebook that Stu is stable but remains in critical care. He also cautioned against scams, clarifying that the family has not set up any GoFundMe campaigns. Reports from other sources indicate that Smith, an Army veteran, suffered serious injuries, including broken facial bones and lost teeth.

The incident highlights the blurred lines in professional wrestling, where scripted rivalries and pre-planned choreography can sometimes lead to very real and dangerous consequences. As the investigation continues, many are left wondering what exactly went wrong and what the fallout will be for all involved.
