It has been 28 years since the world was shaken by the tragic loss of Princess Diana, the “People’s Princess,” whose death in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, left millions in shock and mourning.

Diana, Princess of Wales, was more than a member of the British royal family  she became a global icon, admired for her compassion, humanitarian work, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Her efforts in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, landmine clearance, and children’s welfare set her apart as one of the most influential figures of her time.

In the years since her passing, Diana’s legacy has continued to inspire. Her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, have both carried forward her humanitarian spirit through charitable work and public service. Diana’s influence is also evident in the way the royal family has become more open and connected to the public.

Around the world, people continue to honour her memory  not just as a royal, but as a woman who used her platform to make a difference.

Annual tributes, documentaries, and public reflections highlight her enduring impact on global culture and humanitarianism.

Twenty-eight years on, Princess Diana remains a symbol of kindness, resilience, and love a legacy that continues to shine brightly through generations.
