Ghanaian influencer and content creator, Adjoa Tee , has revealed that she has lost several brand opportunities as a result of negative stories that circulate about her online and some of her own controversial posts.
Speaking in an interview with 3Music on Wednesday, September 3, she admitted that these experiences have had an impact on her career, but she is taking steps to work on her brand image.
“I have had somebody reach out to me and be like, ‘Oh Tee, because of the things that are going on, sometimes it’s harder for brands to include your name in some of our campaigns.’ So I have actually had that, and I’m working on it,” Tee confessed.
Recounting one such incident, she revealed that she recently lost a phone brand deal after negative news about her was circulated on social media.
“Me personally, I have had one guy that works with an agency who gave me a deal and came to my house to take back the deal,” Tee narrated.
Despite these challenges, the influencer maintains a positive outlook. According to her, there is “nothing like bad PR” as some brands have chosen to work with her regardless of the backlash she receives on social media.
“No PR is indeed negative… and I can see right now I’m working with some good brands. They do not look at the backlash but focus on what you’re giving them and the numbers,” Tee added.
