The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has commissioned the renovated Kokotro Methodist Primary School in the Bekwai Municipality.
The school, which had been in a deplorable state for years, attracted nationwide concern after photos of its poor condition went viral on social media, prompting urgent calls for intervention.
Philanthropist,Amanda Okyere stepped in to fund and supervise the renovation works, ensuring the facility was restored to a befitting standard.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on September 5, 2025, Dr. Amoakohene commended Okyere for her initiative and urged other well-meaning individuals to support education by investing in community development projects.
As part of his contribution, the Regional Minister also donated 10 HP laptops to the school to enhance teaching and learning.
