50 Cent grabs ‘Paid in Full’ rights, teams with Cam’ron for TV reboot

50 Cent is back in his bag, and this time, he’s reviving one of hip-hop’s most beloved films. The rap icon and TV mogul has officially acquired the rights to Paid in Full, the 2002 Harlem street classic, and he’s turning it into a premium television series.

Announcing the news on Instagram, 50 said he’s ready to give fans “something special.” And to make things even bigger, he’s brought in none other than Cam’ron—who famously played Rico in the original film—to executive produce. For fans of the movie, that’s as authentic as it gets.

The original Paid in Full, produced by Roc-A-Fella Films, told the gritty story of Harlem’s drug game in the 1980s, following characters inspired by real-life figures AZ Faison, Rich Porter, and Alpo Martinez. Over the years, it’s grown from a modest box office performer to a full-blown cult classic, quoted in rap lyrics, memes, and street culture worldwide.

With 50 Cent at the helm, expectations are sky-high. He’s already proven his golden touch in television with smash hits like Power and BMF, both of which built massive fanbases and reshaped how hip-hop culture is represented on screen. Now, he’s about to give Paid in Full the same treatment, only bigger, bolder, and serialised for a new generation.

Details about casting and the network are still under wraps, but insiders are already buzzing about bidding wars from streaming giants. If history is any guide, 50 Cent knows how to turn a street legend into primetime gold.

For hip-hop fans, this is more than nostalgia—it’s history being remixed for the screen. And with 50 Cent and Cam’ron steering the ship, the streets are already watching.
