Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has addressed circulating rumours about his death, urging fans, family, and the public to disregard the false reports.
In a post shared on his official Instagram page on September 12, 2025, the actor clarified that he is alive and well, describing the news of his supposed passing as baseless and misleading, the beloved actor clarified that he is alive and well
“Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace,” Agu declared.
The 68-year-old actor, widely admired for his comedic expressions and unique catchphrases in Nollywood movies, emphasised the need for fans to remain vigilant against fake news, which has become increasingly rampant in the entertainment industry.
Over the years, several prominent Nigerian entertainers have been targets of similar death hoaxes, with false reports spreading rapidly on social media. Agu’s response serves as both reassurance to his fans and a call to action against those who profit from sensational misinformation.
