Celebrated Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has revealed that he looks forward to taking on more fatherly roles in films, while brushing aside any thoughts of retiring from the screen.
Speaking at the premiere of the movie ‘Clout’ at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on Saturday September 13, the actor said though he has been cast in fatherly characters in recent years, he believes he is yet to deliver them convincingly because of his youthful looks.
“Once an actor, always an actor. I’m actually looking forward to playing convincing fatherly roles. I’ve played some, but in my opinion, I don’t look that old yet,” Vicker said.
When asked if he has considered retiring from acting, the award-winning star insisted that there is no fixed age to step away from the profession.
“I don’t think there’s any age for retirement,” he stated.
Van Vicker, who has enjoyed a career spanning nearly two decades, remains one of Ghana’s most prominent film personalities, commanding a loyal following across Africa and beyond.
