The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially launched the Diaspora Summit 2025, bringing together key stakeholders, leaders, and influential personalities to highlight the importance of fostering stronger connections between Ghana and its diaspora community.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa speaking at the event in Accra on Wednesday September 17 underscored the significance of the summit, noting its role in strengthening partnerships, promoting investment, and celebrating the contributions of Ghanaians living abroad.
As part of the ceremony, the Minister announced the conferment of diplomatic passports to five distinguished personalities in recognition of their efforts in championing Ghana’s image and diaspora engagement. The recipients include:
Wode Maya – Renowned Ghanaian YouTuber and digital storyteller
Anita Erskine – Award-winning broadcaster and communications professional
Dentaa Amoateng – Founder of GUBA Enterprise and diaspora advocate
Ibrahim Mahama – Business magnate and philanthropist
Rocky Dawuni– four-time Grammy nominee
The Diaspora Summit 2025 is scheduled to take place from December 19 to 20, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre. The summit will serve as a platform to deliberate on policies, investment opportunities, and cultural initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana–diaspora relations.
The event is expected to attract participants from across the globe, including government officials, private sector leaders, entrepreneurs, cultural ambassadors, and members of the Ghanaian diaspora.
