Ghanaian gospel musician Samuel Opoku, popularly known as Broda Sammy, has made a startling revelation that the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba often appears to him in dreams, guiding and encouraging him to continue his legacy.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on Thursday September 18, Broda Sammy disclosed that since Daddy Lumba’s passing, he has been experiencing frequent dream encounters with the music icon.

According to him, these encounters are so real that Lumba not only speaks to him but also gives him direction regarding his music career.

“Daddy Lumba is not dead. He left his legacy for me and continues to speak to me in dreams. So, if you notice that my voice sometimes sounds like his, don’t be surprised. He guides me and tells me what to do, where to go, and how the Ghanaian music industry works,” Broda Sammy said.

The gospel musician further clarified that he is not intentionally changing his voice to imitate Lumba but sometimes adopts his tone when necessary because of the guidance he receives.

Despite criticisms from sections of the public about his unconventional style of ministry, Broda Sammy insists that he remains committed to his gospel calling. He emphasised that his versatility is part of his approach to reaching different audiences.

“I get invited to different places for different purposes, and I act accordingly. But I am a true gospel musician, and nothing can change that,” he said.

Broda Sammy’s claims have sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning the spiritual undertones of his revelations while others see it as a testament to Daddy Lumba’s enduring influence on Ghana’s music industry.
