Kwaw Kese: I’m still the king of the streets

Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has confidently proclaimed himself the “King of Kings” of the streets, insisting that no artiste has dethroned him despite the rise of new faces in the music industry.

Speaking in an interview on on Hitz FM on Thursday October 9,  he maintained that his dominance and influence over the street culture remain unmatched.

“Once a king, always a king. My throne is mine. There are other people who are also kings , but in their little thrones,” he declared.

Kwaw Kese noted that while several artistes have adopted his style and energy, they are only “photocopies” trying to imitate his originality.

“If you talk about madness, if you talk about streets, it’s Kwaw. Now we have photocopies who are trying to be like Kwaw, claiming streets, but all those things, I’ve done it,” he stated.

He, however, acknowledged and respected the achievements of newer artistes, including Shatta Wale, who he said commands his own influence on the streets.

“I respect what Shatta is commanding. It’s just like football , there was Abedi Pele’s time, then Stephen Appiah’s time, and now Kudus. Everyone has their era,” Kwaw Kese explained.

Drawing the analogy further, he emphasised that while every artiste may reign in their own space, he remains the ultimate.

“They are kings, but there’s a king of kings , and I’m the king of kings. All these kings look up to me,” he confidently concluded.

Kwaw Kese’s bold declaration has since sparked buzz on social media, with fans debating his claim to the “street king” title.
