‘Shatta Wale has disrespected everyone including Kwame Despite’ – Kwaw Kese

Ghanaian rapper Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, known by his stage name Kwaw Kese and popularly called Abodam has called out dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., known by his stage name Shatta Wale, for what he described as a long history of disrespect towards industry players, including business mogul Dr. Osei Kwame Despite.

He expressed disappointment over Shatta Wale’s attitude toward his colleagues, stressing that the self-proclaimed “Dancehall King” has offended almost everyone who once supported him.

“You know, my son doesn’t respect. He has disrespected everybody in the industry — even Kwame Despite, my son insulted him,” Kwaw Kese stated in an interview on Hitz FM on Thursday October 9, referring to Shatta Wale as “his son.”

Kwaw Kese recounted a personal experience with the musician, revealing that after a heated exchange on social media, Shatta Wale privately messaged him asking to talk but failed to follow through.

“He came into my DM and said we need to talk. I gave him my number, but my son never called. I tried reaching out, he never responded again,” he said.

He emphasised that his remarks were not out of hatred but out of concern for respect and accountability in the industry.

“There’s nothing like hate. It’s all showbiz. But if you’ve disrespected people, you should be bold enough to acknowledge it publicly. If you’ve changed, let people know you’ve changed in the light,” he added.
