Dancehall icon Charles Nii Armah Mensah Popularly known as Shatta Wale has revealed plans to make ShattaFest an annual music festival following the massive success of the 2025 edition held at Independence Square.
Speaking after a courtesy visit to one of the event’s key sponsors, MTN MoMo, Shatta Wale expressed gratitude for their support and shared his vision to grow the festival into a yearly celebration that extends beyond Accra.
“ShattaFest is a brand we’ve built,” he said. “With collaborations like MTN MoMo and other affiliations, we’re going to have it every year. We’re even thinking of taking it to other regions and maybe outside Ghana.”
This year’s ShattaFest 2025 drew thousands of fans from across Ghana, cementing its place as one of the biggest live music events in the country. The festival showcased Shatta Wale’s unmatched showmanship and the strength of the Shatta Movement fan base.
Plans are already underway to expand the event’s reach, as Shatta Wale and his team aim to make ShattaFest a signature annual celebration of Ghanaian music, culture, and unity.
