Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has unveiled her latest studio album, “Ready” at an intimate listening party held at the Enigma Sky Lounge on Wednesday October 22.

The 13-track body of work was premiered to fans, media personalities, and industry insiders who gathered to experience what she describes as her most personal and refined project yet.

Speaking at the event, the RuffTown Records artiste revealed that the album’s cover photo, Gold, symbolises her resilience and growth through adversity.

“I chose gold because gold has to go through fire before it is refined,” she explained. “It resonates with the story of my career , I had to go through the fire so that the beauty of my journey can be witnessed by everyone.”

She added that the color gold also represents light and divine purpose.

“Gold also resonates with the sun, and God said, ‘I am the light of the world.’ I’m ready to shine like the sun everywhere,” Wendy said, highlighting the spiritual undertone of the album.

One of the standout tracks, PTSD (Track 4), was inspired by Wendy’s charitable outreach to a rehabilitation center.

“I met this beautiful lady who was isolated, and her energy caught my attention,” she shared. “That moment moved me deeply and inspired PTSD, which speaks to mental health and emotional healing.”

The singer also opened up about her collaboration with Ghanaian-American rapper Tiffany, describing their creative connection as instant. “I went to Tiffany’s restaurant at Spintex, and we were vibing. The chemistry was insane,” she recounted. “I had a song that fit her perfectly, so I sent it to her, and we recorded it at her home studio  it was magic.”

Wendy further explained that the “Ready”  explores themes of adulthood, love, and self-worth. “I wanted to talk about adulthood ,mental health, self-worth, love, dating, even sex , basically things adults deal with,” she said.

With Ready, Wendy Shay steps into a new era of artistic maturity, using her music to reflect on personal growth, resilience, and purpose , shining, as she says, “like the sun everywhere.”

The album drops this Friday .
