Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to the international edition of the Accra Arts and Crafts Market held from October 17 to 26, 2025.

The recognition was presented on Saturday, October 25, at the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre in Cantonments during a gala and awards night marking the end of the 10-day exhibition.

The organisers, led by Manager Adnan Mohammed and Deputy Manager Wango Abdul Karimu, commended Mr. Kusi for his role in promoting the event through marketing and public relations, as well as fostering key partnerships.

Mr. Kusi, a seasoned communications professional, has served Ghana’s tourism sector for over a decade. He previously worked as Board Secretary to the Ghana Tourism Authority and later as Special Assistant to the late CEO, Mr. Charles Osei Bonsu.

He became Principal Corporate Affairs Officer in 2019 and was promoted to Deputy Director, Domestic Marketing, before assuming his current role as Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs, in February 2025.

An alumnus of Prempeh College, he holds degrees from the University of Ghana, the Ghana Institute of Journalism (now UniMAC-IJ), and the Methodist University College Ghana, as well as a certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Johannesburg.

The Accra Arts and Crafts Market, now in its eighth year, featured artisans and entrepreneurs from across Africa, including Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Niger. The fair provided a platform for promoting African creativity and helping small businesses expand into international markets under the theme, “From Local Hands to the Global Stage.”

Attendees, including tourists, diplomats, and locals, enjoyed a lively showcase of art, fashion, crafts, and food—celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of African culture.
