The forecourt of the Bunbong Chief’s Palace was filled with colour, music, and community spirit as residents and neighbouring towns gathered to celebrate this year’s Linujil Festival.
The event, hosted by the Chief of Bunbong, Uborr Wumbe Dawuni, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the community through traditional drumming, dance, storytelling, and communal unity.
A major highlight of the festival was the presence of internationally acclaimed Ghanaian musician and GRAMMY nominee, Rocky Dawuni, who returned home to celebrate with his people.
Performing alongside his band, Rocky electrified the atmosphere, turning the palace grounds into a moving celebration of pride, culture, and identity.
His performance was not just entertainment it was a powerful homecoming moment that resonated deeply with the community.
Also taking the stage was the talented Alidu Mohammed of Playing for Change fame, whose rhythmic display added to the cultural richness of the evening.
The festival was co-produced by Cary Sullivan (@afrofunke) and received support from key partners including the Ghana Tourism Authority, Verna Mineral Water, Sankara Radio, Somuah Radio Gushiegu, and the Bunbong Community Foundation.
This year’s Linujil Festival reaffirmed the role of culture in strengthening community bonds and Rocky Dawuni’s performance served as a reminder of the global impact of Ghanaian artistry rooted in tradition.
