Mfantsipim Senior High School has written its name in gold once again!
The Botwe Boys have successfully defended their crown to win the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), claiming back-to-back glory and their fourth national title in front of an ecstatic crowd at the University of Cape Coast.
The grand finale had an atmosphere charged with excitement from start to finish. Cheers erupted with every correct answer as supporters waved flags, chanted, and celebrated the brilliance of their teams.
The grande finale, dubbed the “Battle of the Giants,” brought together three of Ghana’s most celebrated schools—Mfantsipim School, St. Augustine’s College (Augusco), and Opoku Ware School (OWASS)—for a thrilling contest of intellect, speed, and teamwork.
From the onset, Mfantsipim set the pace with a commanding 20 points in the first round, while Augusco and OWASS trailed closely with 17 points each.
The second round saw Augusco mount a fierce comeback, finishing ahead with 27 points, followed by Mfantsipim at 24, and OWASS at 17.

But the defending champions were not ready to relinquish their crown. In the Problem of the Day, Mfantsipim demonstrated sharp accuracy and composure, earning 30 points to edge past Augusco’s 29, while OWASS managed 19.
By the fourth round, the Botwe Boys had firmly taken control, extending their lead with 46 points against Augusco’s 42 and OWASS’s 29.
The final round was nothing short of electrifying. Every question counted, every buzzer mattered. Mfantsipim maintained their composure, answered decisively, and sealed the victory with 56 points. The NEC Auditorium erupted in jubilation as the champions lifted their trophy high amidst chants of “God is a MOBA!”

With this historic triumph, Mfantsipim not only defends their NSMQ title but also cements their legacy as one of Ghana’s greatest academic powerhouses, standing tall with four national trophies.
As red-and-white flags waved and cheers filled the auditorium, one thing became clear — the Botwe Boys have once again proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of academic excellence.
