Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has publicly expressed deep gratitude to Ghana’s dancehall king Shatta Wale for his generous donation to the Adidja Palmer Foundation (APF) in support of victims affected by the devastating Melissa Hurricane.

In an Instagram message posted on November 14, Kartel took a moment to honour Shatta Wale’s compassion, describing his contribution as a powerful gesture of brotherhood and global unity.

He wrote:

“Today I want to publicly honour and respect my brother Shatta Wale, the African dancehall superstar, for his incredible generousity toward the Adidja Palmer Foundation. Your donation wasn’t just money — it was love, urgency and brotherhood in action.”

The Jamaican superstar emphasised that the hurricane had left many communities in dire need, with families displaced and young people seeking support.

According to him, Shatta Wale’s swift response demonstrates the true spirit of dancehall culture — one rooted not only in music, but in solidarity and humanity.

“Right now, people are hurting. Families need roofs. Youth need support. Communities need rebuilding with speed, strength, and compassion. And when we call for help, it’s brothers like you who step forward without hesitation.”

Highlighting the cross-continental bond between both artistes, Kartel described the gesture as a symbol of unity between Africa and the Caribbean, reinforcing the global impact of dancehall culture.

“This is Africa to Jamaica, Ghana to Gaza — one rhythm, one heartbeat, one culture, united through music and real friendship.”

He concluded his message with a powerful note of appreciation:

“From me, the APF team, and every life touched by your contribution — thank you, my brother. Respect every time. Let’s continue to rebuild, uplift, and show the world what unity truly looks like.”

Fans across both countries have praised the gesture as an outstanding example of global solidarity and as rebuilding efforts continue, Kartel’s message stands as a reminder of the power of music to connect cultures and inspire real change.
