‘Stop washing your dirty linen in public’ — Edem Tsotsorme to Daddy Lumba’s family

Entertainment critic and music promoter Edem Tsotsorme has called out the family of the late Daddy Lumba for publicly sharing private disputes and feeding bloggers with sensitive information.

Speaking on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Wednesday November 19, Edem expressed disappointment at how family matters have been allowed to spill into the public space.

According to him, instead of protecting their dignity during an already difficult period, some family members are granting unnecessary access to third parties which are resulting in confusion, speculation, and escalating tensions online.

“Why are they trying to wash all their family dirty linens in the public?” Edem questioned. “By allowing third parties to be behind them and push them, they’re opening themselves up to even more damage.”

He noted that internal issues meant to be resolved in stages are being prematurely revealed, giving room for misinformation and external interference.

“You are resolving a matter. You go for one stage and come out to spill it. Before the next stage, people have already created their own theories to confuse you,” he explained.

While he criticised bloggers for invading the family’s privacy, he insisted that the family itself bears responsibility for entertaining such engagements.

“The family shouldn’t have waited for the chiefs and the courts to caution them. Some things must remain private,” he emphasized.

Edem warned that if the family continues airing its grievances publicly, the long-term damage may go beyond the current issue.

“After the burial and everything is done, you may end up destroying your own family,” he added.

He urged the family to step back, restrict media access, and resolve their issues privately to preserve their unity and dignity.
