Ghanaian music sensation Gyakie is set to take center stage today in Dakar as one of the headline performers for the maiden West African Festival of Arts and Culture (ECOFEST), further cementing her position as one of the most influential female artistes in the region.

The festival, jointly organised by ECOWAS, WAEMU, and the State of Senegal, will celebrate the diversity and brilliance of West African creative expression.

Often praised for her distinct voice, artistic versatility, and cross-border appeal, Gyakie continues to elevate Ghana’s music industry on the global stage.

Her inclusion in ECOFEST’s star-studded lineup is yet another testament to her growing dominance as a frontline female act whose music resonates across cultures and borders.

The official opening ceremony will be presided over by His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, emphasising the festival’s significance across the subregion.

Slated to run for a full week in Dakar, ECOFEST 2025 will feature:

● Dynamic music and dance performances
● Musical performances
● Art exhibitions
● A bustling festival village and trade fair
● Professional meetings and cultural industry networking
● Art competitions and showcases
● Activities celebrating West Africa’s rich intangible heritage

Gyakie’s presence at the festival is expected to draw significant attention, especially as she continues to break barriers for female artistes by representing Ghana on high-profile platforms and championing women’s visibility in the music space.

As ECOFEST makes its debut tomorrow, 30 November, all eyes will be on Gyakie one of West Africa’s brightest female stars whose performance alongside Sidiki Diabaté and Solange Cesarovna is anticipated to be one of the highlights of the festival.
