Justice Plo Prempeh, a 22-year-old construction engineer, music enthusiast and rising Afrobeats artiste, has announced plans to attempt a new world record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, a feat which has been failed by the last Ghanaian who attempted. The challenge is scheduled to begin on 19 December and run for several consecutive days, marking one of the most ambitious endurance feats undertaken by a young Ghanaian creative.

Prempeh, who is affiliated with prominent Ghanaian acts including DopeNation and Olivetheboy, as well as respected producers King Of Accra and Afrolektra, says the challenge represents both a personal dream and an artistic milestone. His strong ties within the industry, he notes, have helped fuel the confidence needed for such a demanding undertaking.

He explained that the record attempt is not only a display of stamina but a celebration of his passion for music, shaped by years of performing, studio work and mentorship from established talents. The marathon is expected to feature a diverse catalogue of songs, reflecting his influences across Afrobeats and contemporary Ghanaian soundscapes.

Prempeh says he hopes the event will inspire young creatives to pursue bold ideas and push beyond perceived limits. As the start date draws closer, he continues to prepare physically and vocally for the challenge.

The singing marathon is set to begin on 19 December, with supporters expected to follow the journey closely as he strives to break, and set, a new global record.  Ghanaweekend will be following keenly to bring you the highlights of this promising and spectacular feet.
