John Anitei, a student of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC), has officially picked nomination forms to contest the Student Representative Council (SRC) presidential position for the 2025/2026 academic year, marking the beginning of his bid for the highest student leadership office on campus.

The nomination form was picked up on Thursday, December 4, 2026, at the Dean of students Secretariat, following the official opening of nominations by the SRC Cordinating Committee.

This move has generated growing interest and excitement among students, especially as Anitei is well known for his active involvement in student affairs and leadership-related activities on campus.

Speaking after picking the form, he expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to fellow students for their encouragement and support so far.

He emphasised that his decision to contest is driven by a strong desire to serve, promote student welfare, and strengthen communication between students and university management.

“I believe this is the right time to contribute my quota to the development of this great institution and to represent the voices of students effectively,” he stated.

He also assured students that picking up the nomination form marks the first step toward fulfilling his commitments to the student body, adding that their support is crucial to making the journey successful.

“I didn’t pick this form just for the sake of it. I did so because I have a dedicated promise to the student body, and this is the first step toward making that promise a reality. I’m asking for your support so we can restore the recognition and strength of the UniMAC SRC under my administration.”

John Anitei is a Public Relations student and a Level 400 undergraduate known for his passion for leadership, youth advocacy, and community engagement. Over the years, he has participated in various student activities and campaigns, earning him recognition among his peers.

With nominations still ongoing, the SRC election atmosphere at UniMAC is gradually taking shape, as more aspirants are expected to declare their intentions in the coming days.

The SRC elections are expected to be held in the middle of January 2026, as part of efforts to elect new student leaders for this academic year.
