The Accra High Court has issued an injunction halting the funeral of the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
The funeral, which was scheduled to take place in Kumasi on 13 December, has been suspended following a writ filed by the musician’s maternal family.
In its ruling, the court restrained the first respondent from proceeding with the planned funeral ceremony.
The third respondent has also been barred from releasing the body until the concerns raised by the maternal family are resolved.
As part of the directive, the first respondent is required to convene a meeting with all relevant family stakeholders to agree on a new date for the funeral rites. This step is intended to ensure consensus, proper consultation, and adherence to customary protocols.
Further updates are expected after the meeting is held and a new date is determined.
