American rapper Fetty Wap has revealed that one of the few figures in the music industry who remained consistently present during his time behind bars was hip-hop heavyweight 50 Cent.

In his first major interview since regaining his freedom which happened on one of the biggest black media channels – The Breakfast Club, Fetty spoke candidly about the emotional and financial strain of incarceration, explaining that while many people distanced themselves from him, 50 Cent continued to check in, offer guidance and provide support.

Fetty said the experience forced him to see the industry differently. He described how friendships and professional relationships faded once he could no longer contribute to the business but noted that 50 Cent did not disappear when circumstances changed.

According to Fetty, the musician and media mogul 50, did not only provided encouragement but also offered practical help, ensuring that he had what he needed to survive mentally and financially during his sentence. He said the rapper-turned-businessman regularly reached out to him, reminding him to stay focused and not give up on music. Fetty added that several other musicians stood by him at the time, including Coi Leray and Chief Keef, who both checked in and offered assistance.

Fetty also shared that 50 Cent pushed him to take responsibility for his past mistakes. He recalled being challenged to use his second chance wisely and to return to music with discipline and purpose.

Since his release, Fetty has made it clear that he is eager to rebuild his career, and the public exchange between the two artists has sparked speculation about possible collaborations or business moves in the future.

50 Cent has since acknowledged Fetty’s comments online, welcoming him back and signalling that he is open to working with him as he begins this new chapter.

For Fetty Wap, the message is simple: in a time when many turned away, one of hip-hop’s most powerful figures stayed.
