Content creator and Tiktoker Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with two sureties by the Adabraka District Court.
Danful appeared before the court on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in connection with alleged domestic abuse and related offences and is expected to reappear on February 10, 2026.
This marks his second appearance before the court. At his first appearance on January 16, 2026, the presiding magistrate, Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo, ordered that he be remanded into police custody.
The case arises from a viral video circulating on social media in which Ekow Black is allegedly seen assaulting a woman believed to be his former girlfriend. The footage triggered widespread public outrage and subsequently led to his arrest by the Ghana Police Service.
Investigators are also probing allegations that the suspect threatened to release intimate images of the woman involved, a conduct police say may constitute sextortion.
Ekow Black was arrested on January 15, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.
Police say preliminary investigations indicate a strained relationship between the suspect and the woman in the video, marked by repeated disputes.
