‘Avoid taking money from women’ – Slim Buster to upcoming artistes

Ghanaian musician Slim Buster has advised emerging artistes to be cautious about accepting financial support from women, warning that such arrangements could lead to serious personal and professional consequences.

Speaking in an interview with Dr Shine on Hitz FM’s Usaywetin show on Monday January 26, he addressed the financial struggles faced by many upcoming artistes and the temptation to rely on romantic partners for support.

According to him, many young artistes lack the financial means to sustain their music careers and often turn to women for financial assistance. While he acknowledged that the practice is common, Slim Buster stressed that it comes with significant risks.

“Upcoming artistes don’t have money, so they depend on women for money, but they should be very careful,” he said.

Slim Buster explained that once an artiste allows a woman to support them financially, it often creates expectations of long-term commitment.

“Once you allow a woman to help you, make sure you’re ready to live with them. Whether they are good or bad, they don’t even care—just live with them,” he stated.

He further cautioned that attempting to end such relationships could have damaging consequences.

“The very moment you decide to move away from them, they’ll destroy you,” he warned.

Slim Buster’s remarks have since generated debate on social media, with many weighing in on the challenges facing upcoming artistes, the intersection of relationships and financial support, and the need for better industry structures to support young talents.
