Donald Trump slams Grammys, threatens legal action against host Trevor Noah

President Donald Trump has launched a sharp attack on the Grammy Awards ceremony following comments made by several artistes criticising his administration’s immigration policies.

Trump’s criticism also extended to the show’s host Trevor Noah whom he has reportedly threatened with legal action over a joke referencing the president’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The remarks came in the aftermath of the just-ended Grammy Awards, where the ceremony doubled as a platform for political expression.

Several award recipients and performers used their time on stage to speak out against immigration crackdowns associated with Trump’s presidency, drawing loud applause from the audience.

According to comments attributed to Trump, he described the Grammys as “politically biased” and accused the event of unfairly targeting him. He took particular issue with Trevor Noah’s monologue, which included a satirical reference to allegations that have circulated publicly linking Trump to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein claims Trump has consistently denied.

Trump’s response, shared through his Truth Social Profile suggested that the joke crossed a line and could warrant legal action, reigniting debates around free speech, satire, and political commentary in entertainment spaces.

The incident has once again highlighted the Grammys’ evolving role beyond music, as the awards show increasingly serves as a forum for social and political discourse.

While supporters of the ceremony argue that artists have the right to speak on issues that affect them and their communities, critics including Trump view such moments as inappropriate politicization of an entertainment event.

As reactions continue to pour in from both supporters and critics, the clash underscores the ongoing tension between politics and popular culture, a dynamic that has repeatedly surfaced during major global entertainment events.
