And what better time to have such conversations than during Black History Month, a celebration that provides the perfect backdrop for important discussions pertaining to togetherness and resilience? The initiative seeks to amplify narratives of motherhood, creating a living archive that will foster exchanges between mothers in the diaspora and West Africa. A certified life coach, speaker, and new mother, Hodges believes such conversations will transform communities for the better: “No matter where we find ourselves, every mother desires the same thing: the best for their children. Whether you’re in Accra or Lagos, your experiences matter and carry insights that will be beneficial to your fellow sisters in New York, Los Angeles, and more.” She urges West African mothers to submit testimonies, tips, and traditions that will inspire and strengthen bonds across cultures.
