Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Esther Smith has disclosed that her popular song “3nsuro” was inspired by a track from Jamaican-American artiste Shaggy.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanaian media personality Kobby Kyei, Esther Smith explained that the creative spark behind “3nsuro” came after listening to one of Shaggy’s songs.
According to her, the rhythm and vibe of the Jamaican-American musician’s work influenced the direction and composition of her gospel hit.
The celebrated gospel icon noted that inspiration in music can come from various sources regardless of genre and that artistes often draw ideas from sounds that resonate with them personally.
She emphasised that while the inspiration stemmed from Shaggy’s music, the message and delivery of “3nsuro” were tailored to reflect her Christian faith and gospel roots.
Esther Smith’s revelation sheds light on the cross-genre influences that shape contemporary gospel music, demonstrating how global sounds can inspire spiritually themed compositions.
“3nsuro” remains one of her well-known songs, continuing to inspire listeners with its uplifting message.
