Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie has praised the resilience of dancehall star Shatta Wale, highlighting the determination it took for the artiste to revive his career after a long break.
Speaking during his radio show on Apple Music on March 6, Sarkodie commended Shatta Wale for rebuilding his career and reclaiming his place in the Ghanaian music industry after going away for nearly a decade.
According to Sarkodie, Shatta Wale’s journey is a powerful example of perseverance and dedication.
He noted that the dancehall star’s ability to stay committed for ten years before making a strong comeback offers an important lesson about persistence.
“For someone to hold on for ten years, that should tell you something,” Sarkodie said. “There is a lesson in there that it is never over until it is over.”
The rapper further emphasised that Shatta Wale’s story teaches people not to give up on their dreams regardless of how long it takes to achieve success.
“You’ve taught us to learn from everything that happens in life. No matter how long it takes, we shouldn’t give up,” he added.
Sarkodie also disclosed that one of his favourite songs from Shatta Wale is the hit track Kakai, recalling the excitement and impact the song had when it was released.
He noted that the track captured the energy of the moment and went on to dominate the Ghanaian music scene at the time, cementing Shatta Wale’s influence in the industry.
