Robert Klah, head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions, has disclosed that organisers reached out to music duo DopeNation regarding the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations but did not receive any response.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, March 16, Klah said, “We tried, but we couldn’t get feedback. These guys are extremely talented, they give us banging songs, and one of the key areas of the board is to constantly have relationships with artistes. So, we will keep engaging with them.”
Klah emphasised that past engagement with artistes sometimes came with challenges, but that did not stop Charterhouse from maintaining relationships.
“There were some people in previous years who did not participate, and the following year they were back. That is the kind of engagement we continue to prioritise.”
On whether DopeNation had explicitly declined participation, Klah clarified that “we didn’t get feedback. We even did follow-ups but had no response.
Despite the current situation, Klah assured that Charterhouse would continue efforts to engage artistes and ensure participation in the awards.
