Ghanaian music duo R2Bees have reached an impressive new milestone as their hit song ‘Over’ has surged to the number one spot on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart.

Originally released on September 20, 2017, the track has become only the second Ghanaian song to achieve this feat, following Moliy’s viral hit ‘Shake it to the Max’ featuring Silent Addy.

Produced by celebrated Ghanaian producer Killbeatz, ‘Over’ experienced a remarkable resurgence in 2026, reconnecting with audiences both in Ghana and across the globe.

The song also appeared on R2Bees’ 2019 album, Site 15, further highlighting the track’s enduring appeal within the Afrobeats and hiplife space.

Nearly a decade after its release, ‘Over’ is proving that timeless music always finds its way back into the spotlight.

The achievement underscores R2Bees’ growing impact on the global music scene and reflects the increasing international appetite for Ghanaian sounds.

With ‘Over’ now topping the UK Afrobeats Chart, the duo once again reinforces their reputation as pioneers in Ghana’s vibrant music industry while inspiring a new generation of artistes.

R2Bees, made up of cousins Faisal Hakeem and Rashid Mugeez, is known for its smooth blend of rap, melody and street-inspired storytelling.

Over the years, they have remained a dominant force in Ghanaian music.

Their influence has extended far beyond Ghana’s borders, including a nomination at the BET Awards in 2013.

In March 2019, the duo released their third studio album, Site 15, a project that further cemented their legacy and showcased their versatility.

Today, with ‘Over’ topping the UK Afrobeats Chart years after its debut, R2Bees continue to demonstrate the timeless power of their music and their enduring place at the forefront of African music.
