Actress Nia Long files restraining order against alleged stalker

American actress Nia Long is making headlines for reasons far removed from film and television, as she takes legal action in response to what she describes as a prolonged and deeply unsettling stalking situation.

According to recent reports, Long has filed for a restraining order against a woman she alleges has been harassing her for more than two years.

The situation, which had reportedly been ongoing behind the scenes, reached a critical point in March 2026, prompting the actress to seek court intervention.

In legal filings, Long claims the individual repeatedly appeared at her Los Angeles home without invitation, often leaving gifts and attempting to initiate contact.

What has made the situation particularly concerning, according to the actress, is the alleged belief by the individual that they share a personal relationship, something Long firmly denies.

The tension escalated further over the weekend when the woman reportedly showed up at Long’s residence once again. Authorities were called to the scene, and the individual was subsequently taken into custody. The incident appears to have been the tipping point that led Long to pursue formal legal protection.

Beyond her own safety, the actress is also seeking protection for her immediate family, including her children and mother.

Sources indicate that Nia Long expressed concern about the potential risks posed by the repeated encounters, emphasising the need for boundaries and security.

Despite the seriousness of the claims, the judge denied a temporary restraining order.

A court hearing is expected to take place in April 2026, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their cases.

The outcome could determine whether a longer-term order of protection will be issued.

The situation sheds light on a broader issue faced by public figures—navigating personal safety in the face of unwanted attention. While fame often brings admiration and opportunity, it can also expose individuals to invasive and, at times, dangerous encounters.

For Long, the focus now shifts to the legal process and ensuring the safety of herself and her loved ones.

As the case moves forward, it is likely to draw continued public attention, not only because of her status but also due to the serious nature of the allegations involved.

While she continues to remain active in her professional life, including her role in the upcoming Michael biopic, this situation underscores a more personal battle, one that highlights the importance of security, privacy, and peace of mind in the lives of those constantly in the public eye.
