Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has voiced frustration following the Black Stars’ disappointing performances in recent international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
In a video shared on X on March 30, 2026, the outspoken musician, speaking during a live TikTok session, urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and other relevant authorities to include former captain André Ayew in Ghana’s World Cup squad.
According to him, Ayew’s on-field chemistry with his brother, Jordan Ayew, could significantly boost team morale and performance.
“They [GFA] have to include Dede Ayew in the World Cup team. We are pleading, it’s not by force, but we are begging that he should be part of the team. We are kneeling… so he can support Jordan because of their strong connection. When they are on the pitch, they uplift the entire team. I am very devastated about all this,” he said.
Shatta Wale also took a swipe at the Black Stars, questioning their ambition and commitment on the international stage.
“Black Stars, let me ask you something: do you want to compete for the World Cup or something else? If it’s something else, I would understand because it seems we are not used to winning trophies. Maybe they should create a ‘World Bottle’ for you to compete in. Don’t you drink water at all, or do you want a ‘World Spoon’?” he joked.
The remarks come after the Black Stars suffered a 5–1 defeat to Austria and a 2–1 loss to Germany, results that have sparked widespread criticism from fans over the team’s poor performance.
The poor performance of the team has also led to the dismissal of coach Otto Addo.
