Feli Nuna has opened up about her experience with sexual harassment within the media space, revealing troubling encounters.
Speaking in an interview with 3Music TV, the singer disclosed that she was sexually harassed by someone she knew while visiting a media house to promote her single BumBum in 2022.
According to her, the experience has made her take a break and reassess herself before coming back to the industry.
“I got sexually harassed when I went to one of the media houses in Accra for promotional engagements for my BumBum single. Someone I knew sexually harassed me,” she stated.
Feli Nuna further expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of recognition for her talent and hard work.
She indicated that in some instances, her value was reduced to what individuals believed they could gain from her sexually rather than her artistic abilities.
“I wasn’t valued for my skills and efforts. It was more about what they could achieve from me sexually,” she added.
The artiste also recounted a separate incident in 2022 during the promotion of her song “Towel” where she had an altercation involving industry gatekeepers.
She claimed that at least three individuals suggested it was acceptable to engage in sexual relationships with female artistes as part of the industry dynamic.
“I had an altercation when I was promoting ‘Towel’ in 2022. I had three gatekeepers who told me it was okay to sleep with your female artiste because she’s a woman,” she revealed.
