Musician Camidoh has addressed his absence from the nominees list for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, stating that while he may have missed out on nominations, he remains open to performing at the event if given the opportunity.
Speaking in an interview on HitzFM on Monday, April 7, the singer expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of taking the stage, noting that it would be a significant moment for him and his team.
“I mean, I hope it comes through. I hope the offer comes and it comes with good money to be able to build our set and do amazing,” he said.
Camidoh explained that delivering high-quality performances requires substantial investment, which can be challenging within the Ghanaian music space.
“I really have the goal of doing what I see and what I love. But there has always been a limitation on our end,” he noted.
He pointed out that financial constraints are a broader issue affecting not just artistes but also event organisers and producers.
“Ghana is difficult when it comes to directing funds into this because money truly does not come as it should. So you should also understand it from the perspective of the producers of shows,” he added.
Despite these challenges, he maintained a positive outlook, stating that he would gladly accept the opportunity to perform if invited.
“But for sure, if it comes to our table, why not? I’ll serve the country, man,” he said.
Camidoh’s comments come amid ongoing conversations about this year’s TGMA nominations, with some fans expressing surprise over his absence while others continue to debate the selection process.
