Musician Camidoh has opened up about the challenges of finding genuine friendships in the music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Tuesday, April 7, Camidoh admitted that trust can be scarce among peers.
“People actually have two faces,” he said, explaining that the lack of authenticity inspired his new song.
He added, “It’s hard to really have a real friend in the industry. You talk to somebody, and the person will go and sit with who they call their friends and actually dissect it and make you sound stupid.”
Camidoh said these experiences have taught him to be cautious and rely on prayer and family support.
“The best thing is to keep to yourself or pray to God. I’m not saying I don’t trust people. There are people I trust. But most of the time, it’s not real,” he explained.
Highlighting the role of his family, he shared, “That’s why I tell my mum to pray for me. When I’m about to release a new song, I tell her, ‘mum, be praying.’”
