Fameye has disclosed his desire to collaborate with dancehall star Shayla Wale despite sensing that the latter may have been upset with him.

Speaking in an interview with Joy Prime on Wednesday, April 15, Fameye disclosed that Shatta Wale remains one of the top artistes he would love to feature on a song.

“That one person whose verse I’d love on my song, but I feel is mad at me, is Shatta Wale,” he said.

Fameye explained that the two once shared a close bond, frequently communicating and even planning collaborations.

“He was my very good friend. We used to talk a lot on WhatsApp. We shared voice notes, we talked, and we even planned to have records together. And all of a sudden, I don’t know what happened,” he stated.

The ‘Praise’ hitmaker admitted he is unsure what may have caused the apparent distance between them but suggested it could be linked to something he might have said unintentionally.

“Maybe I may have said something somewhere that didn’t sit well with him, I don’t know. To the best of my knowledge, I’m a very genuine person, and I feel I do things intentionally,” he noted.

According to Fameye, if he has ever offended Shatta Wale, it was not deliberate.

“If I have ever done anything to him, it’s not with bad intentions. It is because I’m doing what I’m supposed to do,” he added.

When asked why he believes Shatta Wale might be upset, Fameye pointed to a breakdown in communication.

“It’s because he’s not responding. We used to talk a lot before. You may know him on another level, but for the level I know him, this is what I feel,” he explained.

Despite the situation, Fameye was quick to dismiss speculation and emphasised his admiration for the dancehall artiste.

“Let’s not make assumptions. I love Shatta Wale so much, and I’d love to get him on a song. Even that aside, I love him for who he is, and it’ll be nice to have him on a song and be close,” he said.

Fameye concluded by reiterating his respect for Shatta Wale, expressing hope that they can reconnect both personally and professionally in the future.
