Dancer Dancegod Lloyd has opened up about his motivation for supporting emerging talents in the dance industry, stressing the importance of building a meaningful legacy.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Thursday, April 23, the award-winning performer reflected on his journey and why he is intentional about uplifting others.
According to the dancer, his rise to prominence was not easy, and that experience has shaped his commitment to nurturing unique talents.
“I also believe that when I was coming up, it took me a lot to get here. So if I see a talent that’s very different, I want to support it. I don’t just throw people away because I feel like, ‘oh, I am Dancegod Lloyd,’ he said.
He further emphasised that legacy goes beyond personal success, noting that it should have a lasting and meaningful impact.
“I want my legacy to make sense. It’s not just leaving a legacy, it has to make sense. And these people are those who can carry it,” he added.
The dancer also hinted at a broader vision for the future of the industry, suggesting that the collective effort to groom talents will yield even greater results over time.
His remarks have sparked conversations online about mentorship and the role established creatives play in shaping the next generation of performers in Ghana’s growing dance scene.
