Music enthusiast and media personality Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss, popularly known as Zealthegreat, has shared his views on the growing influence of Black Sherif, stating that the artiste commands one of the largest fan bases in the country, particularly among the youth.
In an interview with Hit FM on Wednesday, May 6, Zealthegreat argued that Black Sherif, also known as “Blacko,” could easily rank among the top three most supported artistes in Ghana today.
“You’re asking about Blacko’s fan base and all that. I must say, if not the third biggest fan base for an artiste, then I don’t know what you guys are seeing,” he said. “Go to the universities, go to the newer generations, go to the youth and all that—you’ll know that Blacko is there.”
He emphasised that Black Sherif’s appeal is deeply rooted in the younger demography, noting that his music strongly resonates with students and the new generation of listeners.
Zealthegreat also touched on Black Sherif’s recent engagement with conversations surrounding the TGMA, suggesting that the artiste’s involvement reflects a level of interest and desire for recognition.
“For me, the fact that Blacko has not been nonchalant about this particular award scheme tells me that yes, he needs it. He’s engaged in conversations,” he explained.
He contrasted this with the approach of Sarkodie, indicating that the award-winning rapper has recently adopted a more laid-back stance toward such discussions. According to him, Black Sherif himself took a similar quiet approach in the past but appears to be more active this time around.
