The top three winners of Channel One TV’s “An Episode with Mama” promotion have received an all-expenses-paid weekend getaway at the African Regent Hotel, ahead of the Mother’s Day Celebration on Sunday May 10.
The presentation was made on Friday, May 8, by the Head of Events and Partnerships at Channel One TV/Citi FM, Frema Adunyame.
The prize packages also included GTP cloths and gift bags from Tekura. The first-place winner received five GTP cloths, while the second and third-place winners received three and two cloths respectively.
Edith Ewool emerged winner after being nominated by her daughter, Kathryn Ewool, who described her mother as a woman defined by sacrifice, forgiveness and resilience.
Mrs Agnes Kwegyir placed second after her daughter, Mrs Marian Kutsienyo, shared her story of raising five children following the death of their father.
Madam Florence Safoah took third place after her son, Kwabena Owusu-Yeboah, praised her determination in ensuring he completed his education despite severe financial difficulties after his father’s business was demolished.
Seven other finalists also received gift hampers, GTP cloths and gift bags from Tekura.
The other finalists included Margaret Adjei-Mensah, nominated by her son Frederick Atta Mensah; Mary Ashie, nominated by her son Bernard Edwin Komla Mensah Ahiator; Adzoga Veronica Abena, nominated by her daughter Seraphine Senam; Mrs Florence Effe Biney, nominated by her daughter Catherine Biney; Madam Comfort, nominated by her son Mathew Kwame Yawba; Hopey, nominated by her daughter Bless Adjorlolo Josephine; and Alordzi Rebecca, a disabled mother who applied for herself.
Channel One TV’s “An Episode with Mama” is a special Mother’s Day initiative celebrating the sacrifices, resilience and impact of mothers in shaping the lives of their children.
The initiative forms part of Channel One TV’s commitment to recognizing the hard work of mothers and their contributions to the community as a whole.
