The curtains officially fell on the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2026, held at the Accra International Conference Centre (Grand Arena) from the evening of Saturday, May 9, through to the early hours of Sunday, May 10.
This year’s ceremony was dominated by some of Ghana’s biggest music stars, with Black Sherif emerging as the biggest winner of the night after securing five awards, including the coveted Artiste of the Year title.
The triumph marks the second time the “Iron Boy” hitmaker has won the topmost award, following his first victory in 2023.
Black Sherif’s remarkable night also saw him win Album of the Year for Iron Boy, Songwriter of the Year with Sacrifice, Best Afropop Song, and Best Hip-Hop Song for Where Dem Boys. His dominance at this year’s awards comes after a stellar year on both local and international streaming platforms.
Another major winner on the night was Medikal, who enjoyed a strong showing with four awards.
The rapper claimed the Best Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste title and also won Best Collaboration of the Year alongside Shatta Wale for their hit song Shoulder. The song also picked up the Most Popular Song of the Year award, cementing its impact over the past year.
Highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata also had an impressive outing, taking home two awards, including Highlife Artiste of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year for It Is Finished.

- Gospel Artiste of the Year – Diana Hamilton
- Best AfroBeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year – Wendy Shay
- Producer of the Year – A’town for Shoulder
- Traditional Gospel Song – Nyame Ye – Piesie Esther
- Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year – Stonebwoy
- Best Hiphop Artiste of the Year – Medikal
