Black Sherif has opened up about the hard work and dedication that went into his award-winning ‘Iron Boy’ album after it won Album of the Year at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The awards ceremony took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Sunday, May 9.
Released in March 2025, ‘Iron Boy’ contains 15 songs.

Speaking after receiving the award, Black Sherif reflected on the journey behind the album, disclosing that work on the project started even before he won his first Artiste of the Year award.
“Three years in the making. Three years were spent making the ‘Iron Boy’ album. We showed up every day. We showed up every night,” he said.
“We travelled the world shooting music videos, recording in studios, and sleeping in studios. We started making ‘Iron Boy’ before my first Artiste of the Year award. That’s how much work went into Iron Boy.”

“This is not by chance. This is determination. This is hard work. Thank you so much for loving me,” he added.
He also thanked members of his creative and production team for contributing to the success of the album.
The Album of the Year category featured strong competition from other musicians, including Stonebwoy’s Torcher, Gyakie’s After Midnight, Medikal’s Disturbation II, Wendy Shay’s Ready and Kweku Smoke’s Walk With Me.
