Reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif, has expressed confidence in his ability to win the prestigious accolade for a third time.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 on Monday, May 11, the “Iron Boy” hitmaker said his consistency and dedication to work make the feat achievable.
During the interview, host Cookie Tee pointed out that no Ghanaian artiste has won the Artiste of the Year award three times, noting that Black Sherif has now joined acts like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and VVIP, who have each won the award twice.
When asked whether he could become the first artiste to win the award three times, he responded confidently, saying that “It’s possible, most definitely possible because I’m still working. We won the award on Sunday, and we’re back to work on Monday. We are still working, it’s 100% possible.”
Black Sherif also opened up about the songs he believes best represent him as an artiste.
Asked which songs a first-time listener should hear to understand him, the award-winning musician mentioned some of his personal favourites from his catalogue.
According to him, tracks such as “Changes,” “Sacrifice,” “Oil In My Head,” and “Soja” capture his identity and artistry.
