Dancehall star Shatta Wale has added two more trophies to his growing international accolades after emerging victorious at the 43rd International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA), held on Sunday, May 17, in Florida, USA.
The award-winning artiste picked up the honours for “Best African Dancehall Entertainer” and “Concert of the Year” for his widely celebrated “Shatta Fest”, further cementing his dominance on the global dancehall scene.
The 43rd edition of the prestigious IRAWMA, dubbed “Culture’s Biggest Night,” took place at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Centre in Lauderhill, Florida, and brought together top names in reggae, dancehall, Afrobeat, Soca and other world music genres.
The annual ceremony recognises excellence among artistes, producers and industry professionals from across the Caribbean, Africa and the global diaspora, making it one of the most respected award platforms in the genre.
With these latest wins, Shatta Wale now extends his record as the most awarded Ghanaian artiste in IRAWMA history, taking his total number of wins to 11.
The achievement further highlights his longstanding influence in African dancehall and his continued relevance on the international stage, as he remains one of Ghana’s most decorated and globally recognised music exports.
